Advanced Scuba Diving in Maui
Scuba diving in Maui gets addictive because once you complete your PADI Open Water Diver certification in Lahaina, you may want to go deeper on an advanced Deep dive. Enter the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course. This certification increases your self-confidence and knowledge as a scuba diver while introducing you to five new adventure dives. You can begin your Advanced course immediately after completing Open Water!
Your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course gets completed in two to three days. This course requires two compulsory dives, Deep and Navigation so you can select three additional dives. We recommend you go for Peak Performance Buoyancy, Fish Identification, and Underwater Photography. But you get to choose from a long list of electives, highlighted by:
- Deep Diver
- Underwater Navigator
- Fish Identification
- Underwater Photography
- Wreck Diver
- Peak Performance Buoyancy
- Night Diver
Deep Diver training allows you to confidently join other experienced divers at some of the best Maui diving sites. The PADI Advanced Diver certification safely increases your maximum depth limit to 100 feet, where coral reefs in Hawaii continue to grow. Our favorite spot to deep dive is Airport Beach in Kaanapali. At a depth of 50 feet, you leave the inside reef system at this dive site to descend a grassy slope to your destination!
You can visit Mala Wharf in Lahaina to experience wreck diving. The remnants of the coral-encrusted concrete pier created multiple swim-throughs that make for excellent training.
Advanced divers may apply any completed PADI Adventure Dives as credit towards a PADI Specialty certification. Contact us for additional details regarding specialty courses. Ultimately, as you continue to build upon your scuba diving experiences you may achieve the most notable recreational diving certification of all: PADI Master Scuba Diver.
What to Expect for Your Advanced Course
The preferred dive locations and meeting times get chosen based on ocean conditions, so your scuba instructor chooses the dive sites each day. Your instructor helps to create the course structure for you. Advanced Diver training allows you to go for 2 scuba dives one day and 3 dives the next! Each day finishes by 3 pm.
Book now or contact us to arrange this course to take your scuba diving to the next level! You can read more about our Maui dive shop or check out a future certification, such as the PADI Rescue Diver course.
