Advanced Scuba Diving in Maui

Scuba diving in Maui gets addictive because after completing your PADI Open Water Diver certification, you may want to dive deeper on a scooter dive. Enter the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course. This certification course increases your self-confidence and knowledge as a scuba diver while introducing you to five new adventure dives.

Your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course gets completed in two to three days. This course requires two compulsory dives, Deep and Navigation so you can select three additional dives. We recommend you go for Peak Performance Buoyancy, Fish Identification, and Underwater Photography, but you get to choose from a long list of electives, highlighted by:

  • Deep Diver
  • Underwater Navigator
  • Fish Identification
  • Underwater Photography
  • Wreck Diver
  • Peak Performance Buoyancy
  • Scooter Dive
  • Night Diver

The Deep Diver training means you can confidently join other experienced divers at some of the best Maui diving sites. The Advanced Diver certification safely increases your maximum depth limit to 100 feet, where you will continue to find coral reefs in Hawaii. Our favorite spot to deep dive is Airport Beach in Lahaina. You leave the inside reef at this dive site around 50 feet to descend a grassy slope to your destination!

You can visit Mala Wharf in Lahaina if you want to experience wreck diving. The remnants of the pier created multiple sections of swim-throughs that make for an excellent training ground.

Advanced divers may apply any completed PADI Adventure Dives as credit towards a PADI Specialty certification. Contact us for additional details regarding specialty courses. Ultimately, as you build upon your scuba diving experiences, you may achieve the most notable recreational diving certification of all: PADI Master Scuba Diver.

What to Expect for Your Advanced Course

Mornings provide the best visibility underwater. The preferred dive locations get chosen based on ocean conditions, so your instructor chooses the dive sites each day. You can make two to three scuba dives per day depending on how your instructor structures the course. Each day finishes by 3 pm.

Book now or contact us to arrange this course and take your scuba diving to the next level! You can read more about our Maui dive service or check out a future certification, such as the PADI Rescue Diver course.
