Maui’s Most Popular Scuba Course
Our most popular scuba certification course in Maui is for non-certified divers who have already completed their dive theory and confined water skills. There are two ways to fulfill your academic portion of the PADI Open Water Referral Dives course. You can either get an Open Water manual to learn your academics with a PADI instructor or sign up online for PADI’s eLearning. The cost for eLearning is paid directly to PADI as an additional fee, but it allows you to complete your quizzes and final exam before arriving in Maui.
Please note, to start this course, we require the submission of your PADI referral documentation. Get the form signed by your previous instructor and email it to us. If you have not completed the academic and confined water training sessions but want to get your scuba certification in Maui with us, check out PADI Open Water Diver.
This PADI referral course gets you scuba diving in Maui for four training dives. As a certified diver, you can scuba dive with a buddy, independent of a professional, to a maximum depth of 60 feet. During your course, you make two dives each day at some of the best Maui diving sites. At the end of both days, you will record details of each training dive in your new logbook.
Maui scuba diving conditions are excellent to earn your PADI certification. Shore diving in Lahaina allows for easy entry into the ocean and an opportunity to see magnificent marine life, including fields of coral reefs, schools of fish, and turtle-cleaning stations.
Your new PADI Open Water Diver certification will always be internationally recognized and valid for life. So get excited to become a certified diver in Maui, Hawaii! When you are ready to dive deeper, the next step is PADI Advanced Open Water Diver.
What to Expect for Your Referral Dives
Mornings are the best time for clear visibility underwater, so we begin our PADI Open Water Referral Dives course at 8:30 am. Each day you will review scuba diving concepts and go for two training dives. You should finish both days at 3 pm.
Our dive shop guarantees you the best Maui scuba diving experience by observing daily ocean conditions and choosing each dive site the day before you begin your course. So, before 5 pm the day before you start diving, look for an updated email from us with meetup instructions. After your first two PADI Open Water Referral Dives, we will decide on the training sites for your second day.
Our dive shop setup offers you maximum convenience during your scuba course. We first meet you at our headquarters in Lahaina for a briefing about the dives and to get you fitted for your equipment. Then you will drive your rental car to the pre-selected dive site, so please let us know if you will not have a rental car.
