The PADI Scuba Diver Course is designed for people who want to earn a scuba certification but don’t have enough time during their Maui vacation to complete the full PADI Open Water Diver Course.
You’ll complete a portion of the Open Water Diver program, including dive theory, scuba skill development, and two ocean training dives. After completing the course requirements, you’ll earn the PADI Scuba Diver certification.
This certification is internationally recognized and can later be upgraded to the full PADI Open Water Diver certification by completing the remaining training requirements.

What Does the PADI Scuba Diver Course Include?
1. Dive Theory & Knowledge Development
Learn essential scuba diving concepts including equipment, underwater principles, dive planning, and safe diving practices. PADI eLearning is available during checkout so you can complete the required academics before your in-water training.
2. Scuba Skill Development
Work with your instructor in shallow water to learn and practice essential scuba skills. You’ll become familiar with your equipment and develop the skills and confidence needed for your training dives.
3. Two Ocean Training Dives
Put your new skills into practice during two guided ocean training dives in Maui. Your instructor will continue working with you as you develop buoyancy control, underwater awareness, and comfort in the water as a new diver.

What to Expect During Your Scuba Diver Course
You’ll meet your instructor at a pre-arranged West Maui dive location, where your rental scuba equipment will be prepared for your training. Your instructor will review the course plan, help you get comfortable with your equipment, and guide you through the required skills and training dives.
The course includes two ocean training dives and can typically be completed in one day. Dive location and timing may vary based on ocean conditions and the needs of the course.
