The PADI Divemaster certification welcomes you to professional diving status! Earning the PADI Divemaster rating will open the door to a whole new lifestyle. During this internship you will develop leadership skills by learning specialized techniques to supervise dive activities, assist with training divers, and create quality dive experiences for guests. You will also have the opportunity to assist with conservation projects in Lahaina.
The PADI Divemaster rating is the cornerstone to pursue a career in scuba diving. The program consists of 3 main modules: knowledge development sessions, water skills exercises, and practical assessment training. To keep everything focused you will have a PADI instructor from Banyan Tree Divers as your mentor. Together you will learn how to supervise new and certified divers, risk management skills, and career opportunities in diving. Additionally, you will work closely with your mentor to sharpen your knowledge of 5 distinct dive theory topics: physics, physiology, skills & environment, equipment, and decompression theory.
All PADI Divemaster training culminates in a profound understanding of what it means to be a true dive leader and role-model for other divers. To reach this level of confidence you will need to actively learn exercises to fine-tune each of the required surface and underwater skills. Additionally, you will refine your rescue skills by completing the rescue exercise and scenarios.
The course takes a minimum of four weeks to complete. To begin the Divemaster program you must be 18 years old, have a renewed EFR certificate, Rescue Diver rating, and 40 logged dives. Please contact Banyan Tree Divers Scuba for further information regarding this esteemed internship.
