Maui Night Dive
A minimum of two divers are required to confirm Maui night dive bookings. Also please note this option is for certified divers only. Please check our introductory diving and PADI Courses pages for those looking to learn to dive on Maui.
Scuba diving Lahaina at night is an alluring underwater experience. Even if you are a seasoned Maui scuba diving addict, we can assure you, you won’t be disappointed by the exquisite array of nocturnal life that awaits you!
We descend after sunset, when most of the Hawaiian green turtles have gone to sleep. Under darkness we start to see free swimming eels scouring the coral reef for their much anticipated meal. The dive continues as invertebrates like squid, sea urchins, octopus, slipper lobsters, and sponge crabs shuffle past coral polyps filtering plankton.
Our favorite spot for the best Maui diving experience at night is Mala Pier in Lahaina. Even if you have experienced the thrill of Mala Pier during the day, at night this dive site changes into a whole new playground of wonderfully eerie caverns housing turtles and conger eels.
Maui Night Diving Logistics
We meet half an hour before sunset to set up our equipment and conduct a dive briefing. While our favorite site is Mala Pier, we will confirm this the day before your night dive by email. We prefer to make our dive site choices based on current conditions so we can guarantee you the best Maui dives possible.
Our Maui dive company is set up to offer you maximum convenience. We simply meet you with our scuba van at the beach, gear up, and walk into the ocean. Our big white cargo van is easy to spot, and we’ll be sure to send you GPS coordinates in advance.
Please contact us directly for current availability to book your Maui night diving adventure! You can read more about Banyan Tree Divers in our ‘about’ pages. You must be a certified diver to make a night dive, and Banyan Tree Divers Scuba kindly requires a minimum of two divers.
