Prerequisite: To enroll in the PADI Rescue Diver course, you must be a certified PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent from another agency. You must also have first aid and CPR training within the last 24 months. If you do not have this, we can run an Emergency First Response training course for you, which takes half a day.
PLEASE NOTE: Our Maui scuba diving courses require that all divers complete a medical questionnaire confirming good health. On the medical questionnaire, you must answer “NO” to each of the questions. A “YES” answer to any medical question requires a signed release from your doctor before scuba diving in Maui.

The PADI Rescue Diver scuba certification course teaches you how to manage different dive-related emergencies through dive theory, training exercises, and rescue scenarios. Dive theory comprises two academic sessions coupled with independent study. You should complete the requisite Knowledge Review questions before beginning your rescue course.
Scuba diving in Maui provides the perfect setting to practice shore entries and exits. The ten in-water training exercises are practiced on the surface and underwater. You practice this training repeatedly until you feel relaxed and confident with every rescue skill. Ultimately, the ten exercises are evaluated during two comprehensive rescue scenarios.
What to Expect Rescue Diving in Lahaina
Your scuba instructor plans each day of your Rescue Diver course by choosing the best Maui dive sites based on ocean conditions in Lahaina. Your pre-rented equipment will be ready to get set up and rescue-ready! Please let us know if you do not have a rental car. The usual meeting time is 8:30 am and you can expect to finish by 3 pm.
