This guided shore dive is designed exclusively for certified scuba divers who want to explore Maui’s underwater world in a small-group setting. Meet your guide at the dive site, get fitted with your rental equipment, complete a thorough briefing, and enter the Pacific directly from the beach.
Ka’anapali offers accessible shore diving and vibrant reef environments where divers may encounter Hawaiian green sea turtles, tropical fish, moray eels, octopuses, and other marine life. Dive conditions and wildlife sightings vary, but your guide will select an appropriate site based on the day’s conditions.
What to Expect on Your Guided Scuba Dive
Your experience begins at a pre-arranged dive site in the Ka’anapali area. You’ll meet your guide, get fitted with rental equipment, and attend a detailed safety and dive briefing before entering the water.
Once you’re ready, you’ll make an easy shore entry and begin exploring the reef. Our guided dives last approximately 45 minutes underwater, with depth and route determined by conditions and the group’s experience.
When conditions are suitable, dives may take place around Airport Beach, also known as Kahekili Beach Park, where the reef begins close to shore and marine life can often be found at relatively shallow depths.
What Might You See While Diving in Ka’anapali?
Maui’s reefs are home to a diverse variety of marine life. Depending on the dive site, ocean conditions, and wildlife activity, you may encounter:
- Hawaiian green sea turtles
- Tropical reef fish
- Moray eels
- Octopuses
- Stingrays
- Other Hawaiian reef species
At certain times of the year, divers may also encounter or hear other marine life, including spinner dolphins and humpback whales. Wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed.
