Prerequisite: To enroll in the PADI Rescue Diver course, you must be a certified PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent from another agency. You must also have first aid and CPR training within the last 24 months. We can run an Emergency First Response training course for you if you do not have this, which takes just half a day.
PLEASE NOTE: It is a requirement for scuba diving courses in Maui that all divers complete a medical questionnaire confirming good health. On the medical questionnaire, you must answer “NO” to each of the questions. A “YES” answer for any medical question requires a signed release from your doctor before scuba diving in Maui.

By completing the PADI Rescue Diver scuba certification course, you will learn how to manage different dive-related emergencies through a combination of dive theory, training exercises, and rescue scenarios. Dive theory comprises two academic sessions, coupled with independent study. We advise you to complete the requisite Knowledge Review questions before beginning the course.
Scuba diving in Lahaina provides the perfect setting to practice shore entries and exits. The ten in-water training exercises get practiced on the surface and underwater. We like to practice this training repeatedly until you feel relaxed and confident with every rescue skill. Ultimately, each of the ten exercises gets evaluated during two rescue scenarios. What to Expect for Your Rescue Course
We operate as a mobile Maui dive shop and choose the specific dive site the day before your course begins. This way, we can ensure we use the best Maui diving sites for your PADI Rescue Diver training based on conditions. We begin the morning at our headquarters in Lahaina to get you fitted for your equipment and discuss the dives for the day. Afterward, we drive to the pre-selected dive site. Would you please let us know if you will not have a rental car? The usual meeting time is 8:30 am, and you can expect to finish each day at 4 pm.
Our Maui dive company aims to provide both convenience and professionalism. We send you specific meetup instructions by 5 pm the day before your scheduled course. After your first day of training dives, we can decide on the location for the second day with you in person, so you know where to meet us.
