Earning your PADI certification on Maui is a fun, safe, and fulfilling achievement. You want to choose PADI Open Water certification when you are ready to earn a full fledged scuba certification. Banyan Tree Divers Scuba offers this course over 2 days. PADI Open Water is the most elected beginner scuba diving certification in the world and designed to help you reach a maximum depth of 60 feet.
This qualification for new divers is internationally recognized at any dive center and valid for life. A PADI certification Maui style means stunning dive conditions and shallow dives sites. This allows an ideal environment for PADI Open Water training. Shore diving here allows for an easy entry into the ocean.
The course is comprised of three sections. First, the PADI Open Water book has five chapters of dive theory, ranging from the scuba environment to physiology and physics. You must complete the Knowledge Review Questions at the end of each chapter. Try to complete these questions on your own time prior to your first diving day with Banyan Tree Divers Scuba. Throughout the course you will review these Knowledge Review Questions, take four quizzes and a multiple-choice final exam.
The second section is practicing scuba skills in shallow water and at the surface. You will learn each skill slowly to create confidence in your new scuba techniques.
The third section focuses on four PADI Open Water dives. Details from each dive are recorded in your logbook.
This certification qualifies you to move onto the PADI Advanced course. Make your reservation today and get excited to begin your dive adventure with Banyan Tree Divers Scuba.
Mornings are the best time for good visibility underwater, so the course begins at 9am. The exact dive site is chosen the afternoon before our diving day and emailed to all guests. You will review the PADI Open Water academic theory and make 2 dives each day. Your course finishes around 4pm.
You must be in good physical health to complete this course. Scuba diving is an enjoyable activity, but it requires a fair level of fitness to become certified successfully. You must be able to swim comfortably in the ocean. Students are required to answer "NO" to each question on the medical statement which can be viewed here. Please contact Banyan Tree Divers Scuba if you have any questions regarding this statement.
