Where did our name come from?
The name Banyan Tree Divers Scuba was inspired by one of the world’s largest Banyan Trees. In 1873, standing at just eight feet tall, this Banyan Tree was imported from India and planted at the courthouse square in Lahaina. This spectacular tree now shades more than two-thirds of an acre, supported by 16 trunks and standing over 60 ft. high.
The Banyan Tree is the Lahaina’s shaded heart, where local festivals take place, artists sell their goods, and many different faces come to rest. As ambassadors of Maui’s dive community, Banyan Tree Divers Scuba is creating our own island dive haven. Here, guests enjoy not only the stunning underwater beauty of Hawaii, but also a welcoming scuba environment. We are in the land of Aloha after all.
1. Provide guests with safe and unforgettable Maui scuba dives
For most scuba divers, the opportunity to breathe underwater is forever life changing. Our dive team wants to share this exhilarating experience with you so that every visit to Maui includes diving with Banyan Tree Divers! In the dive community, especially a small dive community like Maui, excellence in customer service is key. By exhibiting exceptional attention to detail, Banyan Tree Divers helps to create vivid memories for our guests both above and below the water. Enjoy a worry-free experience with our small group sizes and flexible scheduling options.
2. Spread daily coral reef and fish conservation awareness
Scuba diving with Banyan Tree Divers gives sightseeing on Maui a new meaning. Divers are provided the unique opportunity to experience first-hand the coral reefs and marine life beneath the ocean surface. We are so lucky to explore this delicate part of the Earth, which covers less than 1% of the sea floor. It also means divers are confronted with the continual degradation of the fragile coral reef system, including vast losses of habitat and the near extinction of all shark species. To help protect our incredibly finite ocean resources, Banyan Tree Divers incorporates coral reef conservation awareness with an emphasis on safe buoyancy control.
3. Grow a Banyan Tree Divers Scuba family
We want our guests to feel at home when diving with Banyan Tree Divers. Hawaiian culture has a deep-rooted respect for family, or ohana. Our guests will enjoy that same feeling of aloha knowing that Banyan Tree Divers is taking the time to make you feel welcome and safe. Banyan Tree Divers wants to grow its scuba ohana by providing guests the reliability of always having a go-to dive center on Maui.
