Become a Professional Scuba Diver in Maui
Earning the PADI Divemaster rating opens the door to a whole new lifestyle and welcomes you into professional diving status! Here at Banyan Tree Divers, our PADI Divemaster internship allows you to develop leadership skills by learning specialized techniques to supervise dive activities, assist with training divers, and create quality dive experiences for our guests. You will also get the opportunity to assist Banyan Tree Divers in conservation efforts within Maui’s dive community. While your training will focus on Maui scuba diving activities techniques, the course will equip you with transferable skills to live and work as a dive professional anywhere in the world!
The program consists of three main modules: knowledge development sessions, water skills exercises, and practical assessment training. One of our experienced instructor team will be your mentor throughout the course as you learn how to supervise new and certified divers, develop risk management skills, and build on your diving skillset. Additionally, you work closely with your mentor to sharpen your knowledge of five distinct dive theory topics: physics, physiology, skills and environment, equipment, and decompression theory.
PADI Divemaster training culminates in a profound understanding of what it means to be a real dive leader and role model for other divers. To reach this level of confidence, you’ll take part in various training exercises and workshops to fine-tune your skill demonstrations and practical applications of the theory sections. Additionally, you will refine your rescue skills by completing the rescue exercises and scenarios.
What to Expect During Your PADI Divemaster
